Yellow Tipped Torch Coral

Yellow Tipped Torch Coral is a stony coral whose extended tentacles create a much wider living outline than its base. Reserve an open position where the colony can move in the current and remain clear of other corals' tissue.

A gradual transition to moderate reef lighting is a sensible start. Provide broad, variable water flow and watch that the tentacles remain free to sway rather than being held sharply against the skeleton. Place the base securely, since a fall can injure the inflated polyp.

Small marine foods may be accepted alongside its photosynthetic nutrition; offer modest portions and let the coral respond. Torch corals possess stinging tentacles and can injure neighbours even when their skeletons are well separated. Check the space around the colony after dark and maintain that clearance as the reef grows.
