Wolverine Favia is a named brain-coral variety with a stony skeleton supporting fleshy polyps. Its eventual footprint and interaction with neighbouring corals matter more for placement than the small area occupied by a new frag.

Start under low to moderate light with indirect circulation that carries waste away. Avoid a location where one face receives an uninterrupted pump jet or where surrounding corals shade the colony as they expand. Maintain consistent reef conditions and allow a gradual transition to new lighting.

Photosynthesis supports this coral, and small portions of meaty marine food can provide additional nutrition. Feed pieces that its mouths can take completely. Leave an open border around it and inspect for stinging interactions as it grows; Favia-type corals should not be assumed harmless simply because their polyps look compact in daylight.
