PVC Cap

A PVC cap closes an open pipe end so water stays within the intended plumbing route. The 1-inch option is intended for a matching nominal-size connection, such as the end of an unused aquarium plumbing branch.

Confirm whether the actual connection is a socket or a threaded end before planning assembly. Socket caps require a solvent-weld joint, while threaded caps need the matching thread and an appropriate sealing method. These connection styles are not interchangeable.

Choose the closure with future access in mind. A permanently capped branch must be cut and rebuilt to reopen it, so a serviceable layout may need a removable connection elsewhere.
