Pastel Rainbow Gonipora

Pastel Rainbow Goniopora brings a flowerpot-coral form to a reef display, with an expanded crown of individual polyps above its skeleton. Choose a position that leaves room around that crown and allows you to observe the colony closely during feeding.

Acclimate under moderate illumination and provide variable water movement over the coral. Avoid placing it where another coral's tentacles or a rock projection will repeatedly touch it. A sudden collective withdrawal differs from the small, individual polyp movements that may accompany feeding, so watch the context of its response.

Feed appropriately sized zooplankton particles to support the energy supplied by photosynthesis. Keep portions small enough to be captured rather than settling as waste. Its long-term care calls for an established aquarium and attention to nutrition, extension and the condition of tissue around the base.
