Orange Branching Hammer Coral

Orange Branching Hammer Coral combines hammer-shaped tentacle tips with a branching skeletal form. Give the heads room to open around each branch, and place the base where the expanded colony will not rub against the aquascape as it moves in the current.

Start with moderate lighting and broad, variable water flow. Acclimate gradually to any increase in light. Flow should circulate around the heads without holding their flesh tightly against the skeleton, and the mounting point must remain secure as the colony becomes larger.

Photosynthesis supplies most routine nutrition, with small marine foods an optional supplement when accepted. Avoid repeated feeding attempts if the coral releases the food. Keep nearby corals outside the reach of its stinging tentacles and protect the hammer from the sweepers of neighbouring torches.
