Green Star Polyp Frag

Green Star Polyp Frag can develop into a fast-spreading mat of waving polyps. A separate rock is a useful starting place if you want to enjoy the colony while limiting its access to the main reef structure.

Give the mat good circulation so debris and algae do not build up among the polyps. A newly mounted frag also needs a secure attachment, with flow arranged so it cannot be lifted away. Star polyps can adapt to varied reef lighting after gradual acclimation.

Photosynthesis supplies much of the colony's nutrition, and routine large feedings are unnecessary. Inspect the growing edges regularly: this hardy soft coral can cover adjoining hard surfaces and crowd slower-growing neighbours. Preserve gaps around the rock and account for future growth before placing other coral plugs immediately beside it.
