Green Favia Coral

Green Favia Coral is a brain-coral type with multiple fleshy feeding centres across a stony base. Its compact daytime appearance can hide the space needed for growth and extended tentacles, so give it a defined area away from delicate neighbouring corals.

A lower to moderately lit position is a useful starting point. Provide enough circulation to lift waste from the colony without a direct stream constantly compressing its flesh. Keep placement stable during acclimation and increase light cautiously rather than assuming stronger illumination will improve colour.

Fine pieces of shrimp or other suitable marine foods can supplement the products of its symbiotic algae. Offer portions small enough to be swallowed and avoid leaving excess on the surface. Watch its perimeter after dark for sweeper activity and adjust spacing before adjacent colonies begin touching.
