Green and Orange Chalice Coral is a chalice selection for an area with moderate illumination and room around the growing edge. Secure its support so the colony cannot tip into sand or another coral when flow catches its surface.

Introduce it to new lighting gradually. Aim for circulation that clears particles from the tissue and any cup-like depressions without lifting or rocking the colony. Watch its changing outline over time, since expanding plates can create new shaded areas and quieter pockets where sediment collects.

This photosynthetic coral can also capture small marine foods. Give a modest serving and allow time for ingestion rather than assuming a still-looking surface is not feeding. Keep its tissue separated from neighbouring corals; chalices can be aggressive on contact, and only some varieties advertise that reach with conspicuous sweepers.
