Forestfire Digitata Coral

Forestfire Digitata is a branching Montipora coral suited to an established SPS or mixed reef. Its branches need open space both above and between them, so choose a position that will remain accessible as the colony grows and begins to shade its own base.

Acclimate to bright reef light gradually and provide moderate to strong circulation throughout the branch structure. Good flow carries particles away and keeps water moving around the polyps. Revisit pump direction as growth becomes denser, since yesterday's open passage can become a sheltered pocket.

Photosynthesis supplies much of its nutrition, with optional fine suspended foods as a supplement. Maintain stable reef conditions and keep aggressive neighbours well separated; Montipora is vulnerable in direct stinging encounters. Handle the mounting base carefully to protect the branching skeleton during placement.
