Choosing Aquarium salt and reef salt mix
Marine salt establishes the water chemistry used for a new saltwater aquarium and subsequent water changes. Formulations differ in buffering and mineral levels, so choose one that works with the aquarium's intended alkalinity and existing supplementation method.
Mix replacement seawater separately, keep it circulating until fully dissolved, and measure salinity before use. Check temperature as well before introducing it to the display. Pack size helps plan supplies, but a stated gallon yield depends on the salinity prepared; reliable measurements matter more than treating that yield as an exact recipe.
