Choosing Dottyback
Dottybacks bring vivid colour to rocky habitats, but territorial behaviour varies between species. An Orchid Dottyback and a Royal or Bicolor Dottyback should not be treated as interchangeable simply because both are small and brightly coloured.
Provide several narrow retreats and avoid forcing shy tankmates through a single defended cave entrance. Feed appropriately sized marine meaty foods and review ornamental-shrimp compatibility. When considering more than one dottyback, use species-specific guidance and watch interactions closely; extra hiding places do not make every combination workable.
