Coral/Fragging Supplies

Choose coral propagation supplies around the fragment, its attachment surface and the place it will grow. Frag plugs and discs provide a base, while racks hold them in a controlled position. Match plug stems to rack openings and leave room between pieces for growth and access.

Aquarium cyanoacrylate gel is useful for attaching suitable coral fragments to plugs or rock. Follow the adhesive's directions and select tools appropriate to the coral's structure; a mounting adhesive does not make every coral suitable for the same cutting or attachment method.

Prepare the work area and receiving location before handling coral. Keep tools clean, handle fragments carefully and inspect new mounts for a secure hold. Place freshly handled pieces where light and water movement suit their recovery, then reassess spacing as they establish and grow.
