Choosing Basslet
Basslets are often chosen for bright colour in and around rocky shelter. Cave-associated Liopropoma and assessors benefit from ledges and shaded retreats, where their natural hovering or upside-down swimming can become part of the display.
Peaceful surroundings help shy fish emerge and feed. Offer small marine meaty foods near shelter and confirm that outgoing tankmates do not take every meal. Check species-specific territory and compatibility before combining basslets: a shared common-name group does not mean that two fish will willingly share one cave.
