Choosing Angelfish
Marine angelfish range from compact dwarf species to large fish whose adult colours can look very different from their juvenile patterns. Compare adult size, swimming space and diet first, then consider how a prospective angel fits the existing community.
Rock shelter and a varied species-appropriate diet are important, with grazing material or sponge-containing foods relevant to some species. Coral and clam compatibility must be checked individually: many angels nip reef invertebrates, and regular feeding does not guarantee they will leave them alone. Choose a fish for the mature aquarium you can support.
